REGISTRAR’S VISIT TO THE BONO REGIONAL HOSPITAL, JULY 2023

The Council in order to increase its presence and access to both practitioners and members of the general public has over the years established zonal offices in the Northern, Ashanti, Western, and the Eastern Regions.  This is also to achieve the Council’s mandate as stipulated in Section 150 of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 (Act 857).

In line with above, the Registrar, Dr. Divine Ndonbi Banyubala and the Head of Administration, Mrs. Rejoice Sam paid a courtesy call on the Bono Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Kofi Amo-Kodieh, to inspect an identified office space by the Regional Administration to support the Council, for the operationalisation of the Bono zonal office to serve the Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East Regions.

Also in attendance were the GMA Chairman, Dr Alexander Egote, and his Secretary, Dr. Louis Oteng-Gyimah, who worked closely with the Council and the Regional Health Administration to make the dream of a Zonal Office located in Bono Regional capital a reality.

The Registrar also paid a courtesy call on the Medical Director of the Bono Regional Hospital, Dr. Cardinal Newton and took advantage of his presence in the region to interact with House Officers posted to the Bono Regional Hospital to discuss their progress in the areas of i) knowledge and skills acquisition; ii) welfare; and iii) to receive feedback from them for quality improvements to their training.

The Registrar was assisted by the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Amo-Kodieh; the Chairman of the Bono Division of GMA, Dr. Egote; and the Medical Director of the Bono Regional hospital, Dr. Newton.

The Registrar conveyed the appreciation of the Board and Management of the Council to the Regional Director and his team and the Bono Division of the GMA for their collaboration, cooperation, and support and indicated that it was Council’s hope to have the office operationalised by the end of this year.
