In accordance with the CPD Policy of Council, Medical and Dental Practitioners and Physician Assistants should accrue 15 credits points  and 10 credits points respectively per annum from a minimum of 3 events from 3 categories.

Practitioners are to contact their CPD Providers to ensure that their CPD attendance lists are uploaded onto MDC CPD Providers Portal.

The annual retention fee for 2024 should be paid not later than 31^st December, 2023.

Practitioners are to pay their retention fees for 2024 by using any of the following methods indicated below:

1. MDC ECOBANK MOMO Pay
2. Pay in-person at any Ecobank branch
3. Walk-in services at any of Council’s offices

MDC ECOBANK MOMO PAY

To use our Ecobank MOMO pay option kindly follow the steps below: 

1. Dial *725# on your mobile money number
2. Select 1 (Merchant Payments)
3. Select 1 (Pay Merchant)
4. Enter Till Number (32632565)
5. Enter amount to be paid (Specific Amount to be paid)
6. Enter Description (Specific Description starting with your Name and the purpose of payment. eg. Dr XXXXX – Retention 2024
7. Select 1 to confirm payment.
8. Enter mobile money pin to approve transaction.
9. You will receive a confirmatory text message.
10. Take a snapshot of the confirmatory message.
11. Then go onto the Practitioners’ Portal to complete your online renewal.
12. Complete the renewal form online by following the prompts.
13. After completing the form click the Next button and upload a snapshot of the MOMO pay confirmatory message and Submit 

PAY IN-PERSON AT ANY ECOBANK BRANCH

To pay using the pay-in services at any of the ECOBANK branches, kindly follow the steps below;

1. Confirm MDC account details as below;

• Account name: Medical and Dental Council
• Account number: 1441001134216
• Branch: Okponglo

2. Pick your pay-in form.
3. Enter the specific description starting with your name (name of practitioner whose licence is being renewed) and the purpose of the payment. e.g. Dr. XXX- Retention 2024.
4. Then take a snapshot of the pay-in slip.
5. Then go onto the Practitioners’ Portal to complete your online renewal.
6. Complete the renewal form online by following the prompts.
7. After completing the form click the Next button and upload a snapshot of the pay-in slip and Submit

WALK-IN SERVICES AT ANY OF COUNCIL’S OFFICES

1. Pay the appropriate Retention fee using either the ECOBANK MOMO pay or the walk-in payment services at any ECOBANK Branch.
2. Download or pick up a registration form from any of the offices.
3. Complete the form and submit same together with pay-in slip to any of the offices in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi or Koforidua.
4. Ask the registration official for help if need be.

Please note the following;

1. Cash will NOT be received at any of our offices (Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi or Koforidua).
2. The MOMO Pay confirmatory message or Pay-in-slip must bear the name of the practitioner whose licence is being renewed.
3. Your MOMO Pay confirmatory message or Pay-in-slip must reach MDC offices not later than 31^st December, 2023.
4. When you submit the MOMO Pay confirmatory message or a scanned copy of your pay-in-slip online, do not submit a hard copy of same to the various offices. The head office will issue a receipt and place it on your file. Evidence of renewal will be shown on your MDC Practitioners Portal. This is to avoid double issuance of receipts.
5. The Council’s WhatsApp platform is not one of the methods prescribed for the renewal of licences.

Please further note that practitioners who have not renewed their registration for more than two years MUST apply for Restoration of Name.
