The Registrar, shall, in January of every year, publish in the Gazette the names, addresses, dates of registration and qualifications of all registered practitioners.
The Council shall provide three classes of registers, namely the standing,
temporary and provisional registers for the registration of practitioners.
- Registration is a core business of the Council.
- It assures the public that a doctor whose name appears on the medical
register has met appropriate standards for medical practice in Ghana.
- It protects both the public and the profession by ensuring that entry
and continuing registration are granted only after the necessary standards
have been reached.
All medical and dental practitioners are required by law to be
registered with the Medical and Dental Council and be in Good Standing
to practice in Ghana. It is against the law to practice in Ghana without
being registered with the Medical and Dental Council Ghana, it is also unlawful to employ and engage
the services of a practitioner who is not registered with the council.
