Dr McDamien Dedzo graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1982 as a medical practitioner. He obtained his MPH degree from the Prince Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium in 1998. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA of the Paris Graduate School of Management as a distance learning course.
He has occupied various positions in the Ministry of Health/Ghana Health Service as a District Director of Health Services in Keta and Ho districts. He was also the Senior Medical Officer in-charge of Public Health in the Volta Region and Acting Regional Director of Health Services in the Volta Region. Dr McDamien Dedzo was the Director of the Operations Research Unit at Ho in the Volta Region. Currently, he is the Deputy Director in-charge of Public Health in the Central Region.
He worked as a Tutor/Researcher at the Prince Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium and continues to work for the same institute as a Visiting Lecturer and External Examiner for the MPH course.
His research interest includes the areas of health financing and policy, and human resources for health.
Dr McDamien Dedzo is married with three children.
