Dr. Elias K. Sory has over 16 years experience in Health Administration and Management and has consulted on numerous health related projects for numerous organizations including Catholic and Presbyterian Churches, DANIDA, UNFPA, WHO, and InterHealth Internation and other international organizations that included evaluation of country programs.

He was a national facility of health Systems Research and has organized and supervised research into key issues affecting health delivery in the country. He has managed, monitored and supervised Regional and District services delivery in Ghana. He has played pioneering role in health sector reform and safe motherhood in Ghana and has facilitated in the Strengthening of District Health System Program in the country.

His Public Health specialty area is in Maternal and Child Health and he has written many articles and presented paper related to this area. He was a part-time lecturer on Demograpy and Family Planning at the University of Cape Coast Health Tutorship Programme.

He is a Member of the Ghana Medical Association, a Member of the American Public Health Association and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians. He worked in Bolgatanga and Bawku in the 1980 to early 1990s as District Director and Regional Director in Central and Northern Regions from 1993 to 2007. He is currently the Director General of the Ghana Health Services.
